Sessions 12-18: 10 Feet Can Kill A Man
Session 12: Kidnapping Job
Roster
- Fiar Cucke (Cleric 1)
- Jimmy Dean (Fighter 1)
- Gredz (Cleric 1)
- Gideon (Assassin 1)
- Geno (Thief 1)
Session Log
The session starts with the party debating their next move: kidnap Billiam Gates and hold the exchange hostage? Convince the CCP to rob the exchange as it is the people’s money? Hunt the CCP and ask for a reward from the King? Kidnap the CCP wins.
The plan is to infiltrate the local jail and break out or kidnap CCP members in exchange for information. Gredz fumbles his saving throws, tipping off paladins working for the Patriarch about his attempt to board a prison ship. The party needs a new plan. They regroup at the Cheese-Pizza Peddler. The new plan: steal deckhand uniforms, sneak onto the ship with bombs, and take it hostage.
Session 13: 10 Feet Can Kill A Man
Roster
- Bluebow (Ranger 1)
- Hans (Fighter 2)
- Mozeus (Cleric 1)
- Kurt the Dwarf (Fighter 1)
Session Log
The party explores a cave deep in the mountains, allegedly leading to a forgotten library. They discover multiple human bodies, cannibalized by orcs—according to Bluebow. Further in, they find a pool of water that has strange, negative effects on those who drink it. Hans fills a waterskin with the liquid.
Deeper in, they reach a 15-foot cliff. They all fail their attempts to descend safely, hence “10 feet can kill a man.” Eventually, they enter the buried library to recover the lost tome for Gottlieb. They succeed, but Mozeus is downed and comatose for much of the exploration. The party returns to Krozpont, stopping at Cheltenham to leave Mozeus at a monastery to heal.
Session 14: Out With A Bang
Roster
- Jimmy Dean (Fighter 1)
- Friar Cucke (Cleric 1)
- Geno (Thief 1)
- Gideon (Assassin 1)
Session Log
The party enacts their plan to kidnap a CCP member. Gredz is absent, and some suspect he ratted them out to the Patriarch despite being the one who proposed the plan.
The operation collapses. They set the ship ablaze but manage to capture one CCP member. Gideon never boards and flees when he sees the fire. Jimmy Dean and Friar Cucke forget to remove their armor and drown when they dive into the bay. Before Jimmy Dean’s last breath, he lights a cigarette and uses it to ignite the final explosive—blowing himself up. Geno escapes with the captured CCP member, disguises them both, and hides in a homeless community.
Session 15: Sir Alsworth the Brave
Roster
- Bluebow (Ranger 1)
- Hans (Fighter 2)
- Kurt the Dwarf (Fighter 1)
- Mozeus (Cleric 1)
Session Log
The session consists of traveling from Cheltenham back to Krozpont. The party hires a cleric named Alsworth to aid them. On the journey, random encounters occur almost constantly. One encounter pits them against 33 giant rats in the middle of the night. By using oil flasks strategically, they kill more than 20 before the rest flee.
Just before reaching Krozpont, they pass hill giants with slaves in tow. Alsworth, blinded by righteous fury, charges the giants, pledging to free the slaves or die. The party abandons him, returns to Krozpont, and delivers the tomes to Gottlieb. They also sell much of their recovered treasure.
Session 16: Rakim Said It
Roster
- Bluebow (Ranger 1)
- Mozeus (Cleric 1)
- Hans (Fighter 2)
- Kurt the Dwarf (Fighter 1)
Session Log
The party accepts a job to hunt wolves. Rumors claim werewolves stalk the area, and the party is offered 20 gold per wolf’s head. They travel west, make camp, and prepare to hunt at night.
When night falls, 10 wolves attack. The battle goes poorly. Mozeus is killed, his throat torn out. One of the party’s mules is also dragged down. The distraction allows Hans, Bluebow, and Kurt to flee. Back at the Big Dangler, they recuperate and exchange two wolf heads for gold.
They also receive a note from Mr. Crank, hiring them to investigate catacomb ruins. In the meantime, Hans advertises for a henchman. Five days later, a paladin named Toby McSquire pledges his service.
Session 17 & 18: Mr. Crank and the Dungeon Pimps 1& 2
Roster
- Hans (Fighter 2)
- Kurt (Fighter 1)
- Bluebow (Ranger 1)
- Big Pimpin’ (Thief 1)
Session Log
The party investigates the ruins for Mr. Crank, who needs an artifact retrieved after his own men vanished. On the way, they hire linkboys and laborers from Wirmiry.
They fight zombies, skeletons, and then goblins. Fourteen goblins ambush them, threatening to kill a linkboy unless the party leaves. The party refuses, declaring, “We don’t negotiate with terrorists, and we don’t leave our boys behind!” They kill ten goblins before the rest flee, warning they will return with hundreds. The linkboy dies, and the party retreats.
Back in Wirmiry, they rest for a week. Mr. Crank sends a letter expressing his displeasure at the delay and hints at sending his own men to “motivate” them. The party re-supplies, hiring more mercenaries: Jimmy John, Kike the Pike, David Pike, and a crossbowman.
They return to the ruins, set a base camp, and re-enter. Inside, they ambush nine goblins but only manage to kill one before being overwhelmed. Several hirelings are dragged out of the dungeon.
The party explores deeper, finding a block of silvery stone melting through a grate. They collect a sample in a flask. In a hallway, strange creatures called Snayd emerge from the cracks and demand tribute with hand gestures. As this happens, a massive door creaks open, and heavy footsteps approach. The Snayd flee, and the party lays a trap with caltrops and oil. Two bugbears charge through the hall and are burned alive in the ambush. Toby McSquire decapitates one.
Depleted of resources, the party retreats once again without the artifact. They can only hope Mr. Crank proves reasonable.
